I found this unit of NurseLogic to be the most helpful thus far. Finding out more about the different styles of learning was really helpful for me to analyze my own education and what has worked to bring me this far. I looked more into the ‘tactile’ method of learning, and a lot of the methods used can describe how I tend to study, and they also gave me some nice study tips. Typically, I find that writing something out and then repeating it or discussing the subject with someone else is the most efficient way for me to learn. I hadn’t associated discussion with tactile learning, but it’s helpful to know that it falls under the same umbrella as my other techniques like writing out or drawing a subject. I also found forgiveness for what I have thought of as my faults in studying. I am fairly fidgety, and I have a hard time not picking up a nearby object and keeping my hands occupied while I allow my brain to process. It felt redeeming to know that this is characteristic of tactile learners and can easily be accommodated. I will easily be able to take the lesson from this unit and apply it to my future studies.
